Class of 1984: 40 years on, a reunion full of memories...
This KEDGE Alumnus is based between Barcelona and Paris and has created two video production companies
Meeting with Alexandre Bré, a Cesemed graduate who has always been passionate about videography is today at the head of two production companies.
Hello, Alexandre. To start with can you tell me about your educational and professional background.
I joined Kedge just after obtaining my baccalauréat. I chose the Cesemed programme, with the double-diploma option, so I lived in Valencia in Spain, for half of the programme. Since I was very young, I have been drawn to the arts in general, especially music and photography, which led me to do internships in the field of creative advertisement, and allowed me to learn about several different fields.
Being able to go live abroad thanks to the Cesemed programme opened up a lot of new doors and helped me progressively learn what I wanted to do. In parallel to my studies in Spain, I did a training in filmmaking in Barcelona with the Escac, the biggest cinema school in Spain, where I was able to make my first movies. Once I got my diplomas, I went back to France, where I produced France 2000, Jim Chawki's first movie, before creating my own film production company to finance my own projects.
Tell us about your company, Trio de Doses.
In addition to my Parisian film production company, I also created another production company in Barcelona, called Trio de Doses, where I mainly work on creating advertising and digital content with two other associates. We work daily on reaching out to new clients, producing music videos and advertisements, as well as various digital contents, but we also write scripts and try to find funding in France and Spain to produce our films. Several of our short-films were selected at international film festivals in New-York, Paris, Madrid and most recently at the Contemporary Culture Center in Barcelona (CCCB).
What are your objectives for the future?
We have two main medium- and long-term objectives. We want to develop two independent poles between our film-related and advertisement content creation activities, in order to become more autonomous. More specifically, that means we want to be more financially stable by working more frequently and regularly with brands and advertisement agencies so that we have more time and money to develop our film projects.
How did your time at KEDGE Business School help you in your career?
Kedge allowed me to meet lots of people from various backgrounds, whom I never would have met if I hadn't done the programme. It also helped me develop an entrepreneurial vision and become bilingual. Thanks to the programme and the people I met, I became more open to the world, and gained the self-confidence I needed to start my own professional projects, which require a lot of personal investment.
If you had one piece of advice for KEDGE alumni, what would it be?
Aim for excellence, which means live strongly, love what you do passionately, and put a lot of enthusiasm into everything you do.
Anything to add?
