These kedgers will participate in the first 100% female rally with electric vehicles!
A Rally-Race in an electric car made in South-Morocco is a wonderful challenge that honours women.
Dominique MOREL and Sophie DUPOY SPRIET, two Bordeaux and young sports i50-somethings have registered in the E-gazelles category, which was created in 2018, at the RALLYE AICHA DES GAZELLES: first 100% electric car in the world of rally racing.
Sophie, a graduate of KEDGE at its Bordeaux campus, created ZOOM RH, a well-recognised and committed head hunting company specialising in HR consulting and executive recruitment! Dominique, an INSA graduate in building engineering, and who also has a Master from ACCAU ENSAP Bordeaux, works for the environmental quality of buildings.
In March 2020, for the 30th anniversary of the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles, they drive an E-mehari or a Zoe (they haven’t yet decided which) in a rally-race made up entirely of females, and done in the old-fashioned way: off-road with a compass, and without a GPS! It is based on the number of kilometres travelled and not on the speed.
It is a challenge within a challenge because in addition to mastering orientation skills, they must have eco-driving skills and rigorously manage their autonomy at each stage of a specific route. In March 2019, 10 E-Gazelles set off and 15 are expected in 2020.

This new category is part of the Rallye's environmental approach since it began. It is the only iso 14001-certified Rallye and the values of ethics and sustainable development are present in its navigational challenge.
Already largely involved in the protection of the environment, Ecogazelles Bordeaux chose to compete in 2020, for the 30th anniversary of the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles. An anniversary that will receive much publicity!
“Beyond the humanitarian aspect carried by Cœur de Gazelles and the Rallye Aicha des Gazelles and our taste for the challenge, we want to participate in raising awareness amongst the general public regarding ecological changes and the urgency of urgent need to develop renewable energies ..." "All progress in these areas and all improvements in performance are what fuels us.
The research and development approach of French and foreign manufacturers is extremely active. Our goal is to bring together all the regional actors of electric mobility around our vehicle and what we do locally regarding communications."
Help them meet this triple challenge, which is sportive, humanitarian, and technological! Follow the adventures of this ace team on their Facebook page: Les EcoGazelles Bordeaux. In search of partners to go to the end of the challenge, they will make sure you’re satisfied. Join their challenge by becoming a sponsor or contributing to their fundraising kitty.
A raffle will be launched very soon with lots of fun prizes: catamaran (DART 18) outings on Lake Hourtin, introduction lessons in ULMs on the Atlantic coast, electric scooters to win, electric mountain bike rides on ocean beaches, paddle-boarding on the lake, wine, and other prizes, such as week-ends in B&Bs, etc.
