Video: Philippe Louis-Dreyfus, the vision of a French shipowner
A look back at the Kedge Alumni conference "Maritime Transport in the 21st Century: challenges and development opportunities – the outlook of a French shipbuilder
On Thursday, 23 January, Philippe Louis-Dreyfus came to the KEDGE Marseille campus to present a conference on the theme of maritime transport in the 21st century.
During the conference, he reviewed the 165-year success of Louis-Dreyfus Armateurs. First, he discussed what means its implemented to survive in the hyper-competitive and highly volatile maritime transport-on-demand sector (diversification of supply, specialisation towards niche markets, etc.). Next, he projected us into the future to identify the key factors of success for the maritime services of the future, and questions such as: are environmental challenges the key to survival for European shipowners? Do business ethics in the maritime sector still make sense?
