INTERVIEW 💬
1️⃣ To begin, tell us about your educational background. What did you study, both before and at KEDGE?
I remember taking part in one of the Open Days organised by Sup de Co Marseille during my last year of high school in 1995-1996. When I arrived at the Luminy Campus, I entered into an establishment where community life was teeming. So, I decided to take the Notre Dame de Sion prep class overseen by Mr Frugoli. I’ve kept in touch with him, as well with many of my classmates. Then it was time to sit the necessary entrance exams, especially the Ecricome, and discover the schools in the network (in Nancy, Reims, Rouen, Bordeaux, and Marseille) when taking the oral exams). I still have excellent memories of this “tour de France”, which gave us a chance to meet former students who were singing the praises of their school. A Marseille native at heart, I decided to go there, although I later moved to the misty North!

2️⃣ Were you a member of any student associations while you were at KEDGE?
I was actually surprised by the material resources and the tremendous dynamism of the budding entrepreneurs of the Junior Enterprise Marketing Mediterranean. Like all the “Meuh-Meuh” members, I was naturally drawn to this JE as soon as I arrived. The community spirit that has animated this association for more than 50 years now is simply impressive. There’s a real willingness to pass on know-how and skills from Class to Class. I was lucky enough to be able to come back to Marseille last June for its 50th anniversary, primarily to meet one of the founding members, Pierre Moritel, but also to see the new generations who spend all the energy necessary to promote its collective work!
3️⃣ Tell us what you did after your studies were finished. What positions have you held? What did you learn in those positions?
I did a gap year with the ONET Group and spent the first part of my professional career working in a business services group that’s a leader in its historic market. I held various positions in the auditing/finance and organisation departments at first, then in the operational and commercial departments. I deliberately opted to have a national career first, then a European (South-West, Paris, Belgium, Netherlands) one. That let me appreciate the cultural differences and regional specificities which also make up the richness of the education you get at KEDGE. What I have now is both a sense of humility when I manage large teams (you have to know how to keep a low profile) and the sense of having surpassed myself, which is deeply fulfilling.
4️⃣ What project are you working on /what is your situation today? What gave you the idea and why do you want to do what you’re doing today?
I’ve been a partner in the consulting firm Expense Reduction Analysts since the end of 2019. More specifically, I’m in charge of the Southern region office located in Marseille, which deals with management and organisation issues for SMEs, and also specialises in "Cost Management". For more than 20 years, the firm has developed expertise in this field to become one of the world leaders. Previously, I’ve worked as a supplier with Expense Reduction for Decathlon Benelux and really appreciated the transparent and very professional relationship that E.R.A. project managers had with suppliers on behalf of their clients and the win/win solutions that they recommended.
Expense Reduction Analysts is now established in more than 35 countries around the world. The group is looking for new partners to develop its network in France and abroad. At my level, I’m in charge of recruiting future partners for the French network, particularly for the cities of Toulouse, Bordeaux, Nantes, Lyon. and Strasbourg.
5️⃣ How did your education at KEDGE Business School help you become who you are today, and what was it about its teachings helped you develop your project?
The curriculum at KEDGE draws on the reality of an entrepreneur's daily life. As well as transmitting cutting-edge academic knowledge, it prepares students for the reality of the field and the difficulties involved in running a business. When I returned to Marseille at the end of 2019, Frédérique Gobert from KEDGE Alumni was very accessible to listen to me and gave me advice that will help me in our future development.
