Incubated at KEDGE, “Mon Emile" helps seniors with loss of autonomy.
Emile BRIN and his five partners have launched the start-up Mon Emile. He just graduated from the Management of Innovative Structures and Activities in Health (MSAIS) programme at KEDGE Marseille in 2019.
Loss of autonomy, isolation, loneliness: aging makes more and more seniors vulnerable every year. To combat this loss of autonomy and support seniors and their families through these sometimes difficult times, Emile Brin, a graduate from MSAIS (the KEDGE programme that specialises in the Management of Innovative Structures and Activities in Health), created "Mon Emile". Housed in KEDGE's incubator, the Business Nursery, "Mon Emile" is a life coach, able to quickly find the most appropriate solution to improve the daily lives of people aged 60 to 80, before they lose their autonomy. The start-up provides support in two phases. First, it carries out a personalised assessment in order to offer tailored solutions (activities, home services, travel, etc.), and then it carries them out.
At a time when isolation is affecting more and more people, especially amongst baby boomers, this is a very promising idea. Currently, 1 million French seniors are considered to be ‘isolated’. By 2035, the Third and Fourth Ages will represent more than 24 million people in France.
Offered on a subscription basis, the service has a network of more than 40 consultants. Well received by the media and the public, "Mon Emile" is recruiting and is constantly being invited on television, and Emile has recently appeared on BFM Business.
"As we age, new challenges and opportunities arise in our lives. What new goals do we set for ourselves as we grow older? What habits should we adopt to maintain better health? How do you maintain bonds with your family? How do you maintain or regain meaning in your life? Mon Emile is a personalised service that aims to provide support through a dedicated adviser so that growing old becomes synonymous with freedom and fulfilment!"
