Inauguration of the extension of KEDGE Business School’s Luminy campus
A school with international standards serving businesses and improving the attractiveness of the region
Jean-Luc Chauvin - President of the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Alexandre de Navailles - Director General of KEDGE Business School, inaugurated the extension of KEDGE’s Luminy campus on 30 June.
Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which owns the land and current buildings on KEDGE's Luminy campus, has invested 34 million euros to modernise and extend the premises by 6,624 m2, which now meets the international standards of facilities and quality of its services.
This project demonstrates the ambition of the Chamber of Commerce which started this proactive and visionary project in 2010. Its completion enhances the regions iconic and reputable school. It also boosts the school's attractiveness, increases its admission capacity, and enables it to effectively carry out its strategic plan.
Additionally, its investment generated significant secondary benefits for the local economy as many companies have been involved from the preliminary studies, including its construction, to the finishing touches.
"We are proud to offer our current and future students a place that has been completely redesigned to ensure that their study conditions are in line with the standards of the best in the world. We are also proud to provide the Aix-Marseille-Provence region with an attractive tool worthy of a major Euro-Mediterranean metropolis. First and foremost, this facility has been improved for the benefit of our young people by training them as the future actors of tomorrow's economy. It is our responsibility as the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry to invest in and for young people, as well as for their future careers.
The young people who are trained here are the ones who will contribute to creating value in the region, will embody the professions of tomorrow, and will provide our companies with the skills needed to innovate, develop, and be more efficient. They will also be the ones to take further strides in the conquest of new markets. I’m convinced that a region that invests in its young people and helps them increase their skills is a region that benefits," explained Jean-Luc Chauvin, President of the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This extension and renovation project reflects KEDGE's commitment to making an impact by revealing and developing the potential of its students by putting them at the heart of everything we do. It has been designed to fit seamlessly into the Luminy campus, thereby opening itself up to the region by placing the school at the core of the local ecosystem. KEDGE is clearly demonstrating its commitment to the Southern region as a player in economic development, employment, and equal opportunities and, at the same time, is creating new partnerships with local bodies. The school also intends to increase its international influence by attracting a larger number of foreign students and professors with its innovative pedagogy and modern, versatile, and connected workspaces that are conducive to a mixed teaching approach," said Alexandre de Navailles, CEO of KEDGE.
He added, "This, which is strongly symbolic, reflects entrepreneurship as being at the centre of KEDGE’s teaching approach which is structured around internships as a part of the student's academic career. Designed in the image of KEDGE - which is an original, sustainable and inclusive school - the new building blends in perfectly with its environment while, at the same time, stands out for its quality and accessibility. This project reflects our goal of becoming the school of choice for those who learn and succeed by doing."
