Class of 1984: 40 years on, a reunion full of memories...
Discover the inclusive podcast for female entrepreneurs created by a KEDGE Alumna
Najwa, a graduate of KEDGE’s Quality Management Specialised Master programme, is the founder of Etinc'Elles, an inclusive podcast dedicated to female entrepreneurs.
To begin, tell us about your educational background. What did you study, both before and at KEDGE?
After getting my A-levels in science (high school diploma) in Morocco, I went on to get an undergraduate degree in economics and management. After that, I did my Master 1 in business strategy at IAE Bordeaux, then went to KEDGE Bordeaux as part of my Master 2 apprenticeship. There, I specialised in quality management (ISMQ).
Tell us what you did after your studies were finished. What positions have you held? What did those positions teach you?
After I finished the ISMQ programme, I worked as a continuous improvement manager in the maintenance department at Keolis Bordeaux Métropole for five years. I wanted to explore other horizons so I went to work in the digital field. And for the last two years, I’ve been working as a change management consultant at Econocom.
I also studied psychology because I wanted to understand the complexities of the individual, and I’m currently working on getting a Master's in social, health, and work psychology at the University of Paris 8. My multidisciplinary background has allowed me to work creatively and explore different fields of possibilities through the use of the pen, the voice, the body, and the camera. I’m a blogger and have written some thirty articles about psychology for Essentials. I was a finalist in the 2017 "e-crire aufeminin" literary competition, which chaired by the writer Bernard Werber and, in 2020, I was a member of the jury of the Moroccan Slam/Poetry Cup. I’m also a member of the Slam League in France and author of a collection of stories: "Voyage vers soi: les contes qui nourissent votre enfant intérieur" (Journey Within: Tales that Nourish your Inner Child). Finally, I’m a co-founder of the artistic project "les 5 saisons au féminin" (The Five Seasons of Women).
What are you doing today? What gave you the idea and the desire to do what you’re doing today?
I’ve founded d’Etinc’Elles a "weekly podcast for female entrepreneurs with positive impact", a podcast in French that highlights role models and gives concrete advice and tips to grow professionally.
What are your goals for the future?
Etinc'Elles is developing a 10-week e-learning platform beginning in September 2021 with weekly modules and a workbook. The programme will offer a space of creativity and reflection to female entrepreneurs so they can achieve their projects. Our goal is to meet more than 40 role models in a year’s time for the podcast and to provide support to a hundred women entrepreneurs.
How did the education you received at KEDGE Business School help you become who you are today, and what was it about its teachings helped you develop your project?
KEDGE taught me how to develop my soft skills: self-confidence, leadership, creativity, etc., and to accept my “slasher*” side. (I was already “slashing” between my face-to-face and distance learning courses at KEDGE). I recommend KEDGE to anyone who wants to be a leader of tomorrow.
