KEDGE graduate Alban Turpin has been appointed Director General of Vignobles Foncalieu
Alban Turpin, a 1992 graduate of KEDGE's Grande Ecole Programme, has held the position of Director General of Vignobles Foncalieu since September 1. This cooperative group from the Aude region (founded in 1967) now has 1,251 winegrowers in Occitania.
Alban Turpin, a manager who moved from finance to sales, has joined Vignobles Foncalieu as Director General. His task will be to lead the strategy of the cooperative group in the Occitania region.
The 52-year-old alumnus of KEDGE Business School and HEC Paris began his career as A Financial Auditor with Ernst & Young in Marseille. He then went on to work as a Management Controller for Pernod Ricard France in 1997, before holding successive positions as Head of Financial Services, Director of Development and Strategy, Regional Sales Director for the Hauts-de-France Region, and National Director of Out-of-Home Sales.
In 2015, after more than 18 years with the group, Alban became Global Sales and Marketing Director at Château Blanc, a subsidiary of the Holder Group (Paul Bakeries and Ladurée Macaroons).
A passionate oenologist (Foncalieu notes that he is an Officer of the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne and was trained at the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, a wine academy in Paris), Alban had been a General Manager for France of Lanson International Diffusion, a subsidiary of Lanson BCC, the world's 3rd largest champagne group, since 2017. - https://objectif-languedoc-roussillon.latribune.fr

About Vignobles Foncalieu
Founded in 1967, Vignobles Foncalieu currently comprises 1251 winegrowers who cultivate some 7,850 hectares of vineyards in six AOPs (protected appellation origin) (Minervois, Saint-Chinian, Corbières, Picpoul de Pinet, Languedoc and Grès de Montpellier) and five PGIs (protected geographical indication) (Pays d'Oc, Coteaux d'Ensérune, Vallée du Paradis, Cité de Carcassonne and Collines de la Moure). They have a turnover of 47 M€ for 400,675 hectoliters of wine sold in 2020, mostly for export. The Les Vignobles Foncalieu brand was included on the list of the 50 most "admired" wine brands in 2017 (Drinks International Magazine).
