A KEDGE Alumnus has been appointed director of France Bleu
Jean-Emmanuel Casalta, 1993 KEDGE graduate, takes up his duties on 10 September 2018. He will lead 44 local stations.
Who is Jean-Emmanuelle Casalta?
A 1993 graduate of KEDGE’s Marseille campus, this ESC alumni began his career three years later with Orange before becoming the administrative director of Regions (a subsidiary of France 3) in 1998. In 2007, he became the General Director of NPA Conseil, a specialised consulting firm. From 2011 to 2015 Jean-Emmanuelle Casalta managed the stations and programmes of France 3 Corse ViaStella. During that same period, that branch saw its audience double. He also joined France Médias Monde that same year, where he developed and consolidated a number of the groups broadcasting networks (France 24, RFI, MCD). France Médias Monde saw its network of partners grow from 840 to more than 1,400 in only three years. During this time, he was in charge of the operational marketing and advertising agency side of the group
What will he be tasked with at France Bleu?
Jean-Emmanuelle’s mission is to establish the group's network of 44 local branches as THE local media presence in the territory and to bring together all audiences, underlined Radio France in a statement. Since the beginning of the year, France Bleu has become France's fourth largest radio station with an increase of more than 0.3 points over the previous year. The new director will also manage the cooperation accord with France 3.
"Jean-Emmanuel Casalta will be in charge of carrying out the projects launched in the framework of the enhanced cooperation with France 3 by bringing the strengths and specificities of the France Bleu network so that it is even more at the core of what is offered locally in the public audio-visual sector." This is the first major appointment since Sibyle Veil joined Radio France.
