Class of 1984: 40 years on, a reunion full of memories...
Matthieu Brugières and Benoît Jobert are both KEDGE graduates (class of 2004). After their studies were completed, the two Kedgers co-founded AXIS. Specialising in the urban furnished rental market since 2004, AXIS is now a global operator, as both investor-developer and manager.
In 2016, the two graduates started The Babel Community. The idea is simple: create places that are as hybrid as its inhabitants and/or users. The Babel Community is a living space that consists of residents' apartments, equipment reserved for them, and places that open to the public, such as restaurants, coworking spaces, conference rooms, etc. All this is part of a broader ecosystem of services and leisure (custodial services, events, entertainment, household services, room service, etc.).
Today, spaces are available in several French cities including Marseille, Montpellier, Paris, and Lille.
The first residence, "The Babel Community", was designed by Benoit Jobert and Matthieu Brugières. With over than 4000 m², it opened in November 2017 only two steps from Vieux Port in Marseille and has revolutionised the French real estate market. One can live, work, dine, do sports, and find entertainment there. And especially one can meet others, exchange ideas, and make connections.
The Babel Community plans to open 25 buildings in Europe by 2025.
