La Belle Mèche, the creative fragrance company founded by a KEDGE graduate
Pierre Dellinger, a KEDGE Grande Ecole graduate, has been at the head of the successful company La Belle Mèche, which he founded with his wife, for more than 8 years now.
Pierre Dellinger attended KEDGE's Grande Ecole Programme after getting a two-year technical diploma. He then worked in e-commerce for seven years, first as a salesman and then as manager of an online shop. In 2013, he dropped everything and started his own business: La Belle Mèche.
La Belle Mèche specialises in fragrances and calls itself a "scent creator ". The fragrances are the fruit of Pierre and his wife’s creativity, combining their touch of originality with classic scents. Candles are their signature products, but they also make other items, such as soaps, laundry detergents, and perfumes. They have a shop in Lyon, but there’s also a website where you can buy their products. Their products are offered at relatively affordable prices ranging from 6 to 50 euros.

The beginnings
Both Pierre and his wife had been passionate about scented candles and made them for their personal use. This passion took a new direction when they decided to bring it to the centre of their professional lives. Their business venture was also motivated by a desire to be liberated. After having worked for seven years at large companies, having their own company also represented a form of freedom - the freedom to produce what they wanted to produce while honouring the values they hold dear.

A company that reflects their values.
Pierre and his wife have made a point of putting values such as commitment and responsibility at the heart of their company.
The company aims to be environmentally responsible. To do this, they prioritise recyclable or directly recycled materials. They are also members of organisations committed to fighting global warming such as Time for the Planet and 1% pour la planète, which aim to encourage responsible entrepreneurship.
Their company also aims to showcase French products. Their items are 100% Made In France. This not only reduces the impact on the environment but also allows them to maintain control over production. In addition, the fragrance industry in France is famous. Their production facility is located in Grasse, the perfume and luxury capital of the world.
