This Kedger has established a spirulina farm!
KEDGE Alumna Fatima Hamaidi, is now at the head of her professional project, a spirulina farm with her partner, Arthur.
Holding a licence in economics, and a Masters in Management from KEDGE’s Grande Ecole Programme, Fatima has held different positions in general management, notably a VIE in Morocco where she was “Executive Assistant at a construction industry company. As Assistant to the General Manager, I discovered the many aspects of the Director's job: the need to see the complete picture - commercial, technical, and financial - in order to be able to take the right decisions".
Despite this enriching experience, she quickly realised that office life in a large company wasn’t for her. When she returned to France, she joined the world of start-ups, including one in the field of urban agriculture. She quickly discovered spirulina, and wanted to "to set up and create a spirulina aquaculture farm in the Bordeaux region with my partner, Arthur".
After more than a year of field research, and an additional year obtaining all the required authorisations, they started work at the beginning of 2020. “We did all this while learning how to grow the best possible spirulina thanks to courses from the Fédération des Spiruliniers de France (Federation of Spirulina Growers of France).”
CROWDFUNDING 🌱
Fatima: “Now, after administrative delays and the health crisis, we need help to finish our installations. We have chosen the best equipment and machinery, which have a certain cost. Our objective is to begin harvesting organic spirulina from the end of July in our farm near Bordeaux."
We hope that our Alumni will be supportive, and most of all to be convinced by our cause take part in our participative financing”.
What did KEDGE bring to me?
The spirit of entrepreneurship! At KEDGE’s Grande Ecole Programme, I really learned how to stand up for my ideas and see them through to the end. Dare to follow your deepest aspirations, even if they seem unordinary.
