A look back at the first Réussites Solidaires: working...
This Kedger has come home with the gold from the Deauville Green Awards for his film on the protection of marine life
KEDGE graduate, Clément Pourtal, has just released a new self-produced documentary, which is available for free on Youtube!
In The Blue Quest, Clément Pourtal sets out to explore marine protection projects around the world, bringing attention to their activities and the people working on them. After working in Mozambique, this time he’s gone to a place that is known worldwide for the abundance of its marine mammals: Baja California.
Dive with him as he swims with the sharks, and meet the men and women who, using different approaches, fight to preserve this exceptional area every day.
The documentary is competing in several well-known festivals and has won the Golden Trophy at the Deauville Green Awards.
The Blue Quest - Baja California has been available online to watch for free since Wednesday, 25 November.
Documentary self-produced by Clément Pourtal and Jérôme Brousse. Duration: 38 min 13 sec. Location: Baja California (Mexico). Produced in 2020. First place at the Deauville Green Awards. Presented in several festivals, such as Galathea, Festival des Possibles, Festival des Globe-Trotters, and next, competing in about a dozen other festivals.
The Blue Quest
The Blue Quest team explores different marine protection projects around the world, as well as the people working on them, in order to highlight the solutions they provide. The projects often lack the resources to get the visibility they merit. The Blue Quest team goes to live with those workers to help them with their marketing needs, and to create photo and video content that draws attention to their work. The aim is to ensure that the projects have the best possible visibility with the aim of encouraging the general public to help them and to get involved in the protection of our oceans. Documentaries, photo exhibitions, conferences, events, and social networks, anything that works to get the message across.
Documentary: The Blue Quest - Baja California Expedition
Their first trip was to Mozambique, in 2017, to cover two marine protection projects. In 2018, the team went to Baja California. This spit of land, as long as Italy and stretching along the Pacific Ocean, is separated from Mexico by the Sea of Cortez. It’s known worldwide for the abundance of its marine animals, so much so that Commander Cousteau nicknamed it "the aquarium of the world". But this magical place is being severely affected by the massive loss of biodiversity. There are men and women who are fighting daily with different approaches to preserving this unique area and The Blue Quest travelled to meet them. This documentary highlights four marine protection projects on to preserve marine biodiversity, more specifically, sharks. This film has been a huge success for a self-produced project.
