Former KEDGE student Nicolas ARQUIN has a passion for the feats and history of sports that invoke intense emotions.
Tell us about your path, from KEDGE to today
- In 2005: I started at KEDGE in Marseille to do a one-year Master in Sports Organisation Management I really appreciated the teaching I got, the opportunities offered, and the great spirit of our graduating class.
-
After that, I worked as a marketing and legal officer at various companies in the e-commerce sector related to sports. (I already had a Master in Professional Sports Law when I started at KEDGE).
-
In 2013, I decided to change careers, so I went to journalism school for two years and earned a Master in Sports Journalism.
Why did you decide to produce a book dedicated to extreme sports? Where did you get the idea?
My friend and co-author Manu Massabova and I were thinking about a book devoted to extreme sports and were wondering how to approach it when a publisher from Marabout contacted me on LinkedIn.
He told me about this book project on extreme sports, XTRM Sports, and Manu and I didn't hesitate a second before we jumped at it!
Would you tell us about your book in more detail?
This book embodies and reflects our passion for thrilling sports, a world in which I have been personally evolving since 2014.
Inside this 180-page book, you will find:
- An overview of the main extreme sports (water, air, urban, mountain-related, etc.)
- Interviews and photos of athletes
- Highlights of major events
I’m very proud to have finished writing this book while working in my regular job. It has been a very rewarding experience.
