Who is the coordinator of the KEDGE Alumni Munich branch?

Created and run by a volunteer graduate, this antenna aims to allow alumni and local students to meet from time to time during afterworks, visits or other friendly events.

KEDGE Alumni has many branches all over the world in order to allow alumni and students on site to meet each other, expand their network, exchange on their respective experiences and have a good time.

Today, we invite you to discover the portrait of the dynamic leader of our Munich branch.

SASKIA ROBERT (BEM EBP, 2016) - MUNICH

Today you live in Munich. What do you like in this country, and more particularly in this city ? What is different from France?

I have been living in Munich for 8 years now. I had the chance to spend 10 months in Munich as part of an internship during my Bachelor's degree.

At the time, I quickly fell in love with the city, which is big enough that you don't get bored and small enough that you don't get lost. And then there are the mountains and lakes right next door when you need to get your fill of nature. I love that I can go from a BBQ by the Isar to a philharmonic concert in just a few hours. The difference with France? I see it especially in the world of work, more flexibility, less supervision of employees which allows a better balance between professional and private life.

Tell us a little about your career path: what position do you currently hold? What was your educational and professional background to get to this point?

I am a pure product of EBP International. I did my bachelor's degree at EBS in Germany, my master's degree at HUST in China and the Master's degree in Marketing at KEDGE BS. After my studies, I found an internship at FlixBus where I was able to start my career on a permanent basis. I was very lucky with this internship, I started one month before the launch on the French market. I was able to coordinate the launch of all the communication on social networks for this new market. The timing was perfect!

It was a very formative period for me. I then moved to the agency side of the business, where I worked for brands such as Deutsche Telekom, Penguin, Philadelphia or Milka. Even if the budgets can be dreamy, I missed the entrepreneurial spirit. So when my current manager proposed me to join the Social Media Marketing team of the agency Startup Communication, I didn't hesitate. Startup Communication is a communication agency specialized in startups. We support brands like Yescapa, Dataiku or sojade on the German market. Two years ago the social media marketing team became an online marketing team. Today I'm co-agency lead and manage the agency with Carina Goldschmid, the founder.

You are now in charge of the local branch of KEDGE Alumni. What motivated you to apply as a volunteer?

I was a little surprised a few years ago to discover that there was a KEDGE Alumni branch in Munich. Before the pandemic, Candice and Yann organized 2 to 3 afterworks per year. There were always 10 to 20 alumni, so it was a rather active branch. After Covid, I wanted to go back to these afterworks. Yann and Candice couldn't take care of it anymore, so I took over at the beginning of 2023. Pierre joined me to organize all this in binomial. I can't wait to see how many alumni get together and how the antenna will evolve!

What are your ambitions for this antenna, what are your projects?

My first ambition is to have an active community. Pierre, who has just joined me in the animation of the antenna and I want to set up afterworks every 2/3 months. Once the afterworks are well established, I would like to organize round tables or talks with experts. This would extend the KEDGE Alumni experience with a mini version of continuous learning.

What message would you like to send to graduates and students who are visiting or living in Munich?
Join our whatsapp group and come to the next afterwork! 🥂

YOU ARE NOMINATED, YOU LAUNCH A PROJECT, A START-UP?
