Replay – Living and Working in Brussels
On 24 November, we had the pleasure of holding the 4th webinar in our "Kedge Alumni Around the World" series, this time on "Living and Working in Brussels".
Many of you are interested in finding out about the capital of Europe where the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, and NATO, among other entities, have their headquarters. Brussels is densely populated, but extremely warm and lively city, as our three graduates testified, who agreed with great enthusiasm ... and humour, to present their city to you.
Rozenn Maréchal, manager of the local Kedge Alumni branch, has lived in Brussels for 20 years, Randolf de Cat, a Kedger who has lived abroad for 6 years and who’s settled permanently in Brussels, and Benoît Tournant, who’s lived in Belgium for 5 years, agreed to share their professional and personal experiences in a city which is worth considering for many reasons (people that are warm and relaxed, good living conditions, easy access to housing, presence of major companies...), and which they chose to do their international internships.
Keep in mind that 392 Kedgers now live in Belgium, and nearly 280 in Brussels.
This dynamic exchange proved to be most enriching. The history of the city was presented in the form of a quiz and the topic of internships and job opportunities was addressed with a detailed presentation of the Brussels economy. Additionally, the living environment, good advice on looking for an internship, a job, and housing in Brussels were discussed. The conference was held in a welcoming manner and met the expectations of the Kedgers participating online.
