Class of 1984: 40 years on, a reunion full of memories...
Portrait - Patrick Chemla, KEDGE graduate and CEO of Gexell!
KEDGE graduate Patrick Chelma is at the helm of Gexell (formerly Pointex Gestion), a company that specialises in cash register and store management software
A 1987 KEDGE graduate, Patrick Chelma is an IT enthusiast. He began his career at SAARI starting as an intern and ending up as Director of the South region. Following the acquisition of SAARI by SAGE, he left the company to create Pointex. 23 years later, the software activity for restaurants was purchased by Fiducial.
Since1989, Gexell has assisted independent shops or store networks in managing their business. Gexell is also the integration of management solutions for SMEs:
- Certified Sage Competence Centre
- Double accreditation SME Competence Centre and Certified Partner Hotline.
As of today, the company has 2000 clients.
After Pointex Informatique was purchased by Fiducial Informatique, CSS Sage and cash register software publisher Pointex Gestion had to change its name even though its activities remain unchanged. So, a little more than 20 years after its creation, Pointex Gestion has been renamed. Since June 3rd, the Marseilles-based company managed by Patrick has been offering its Sage software deployment services and its own cash register software for non-food points of sale under the name: Gexell.
"For several months, part of the business has remained independent. However, it is necessary to launch a new brand within a few months, which is Gexell", Patrick explained.
