Marc Faget, KEDGE graduate, is appointed Director of the ISMQ, Specialised Masters in Quality Management
KEDGE Business School announces the nomination of Marc Faget to the post of Director of the Specialised Master’s in Quality Management programme. Marc Faget succeeds Stéphane Kleinhans, who has left the KEDGE group. The school’s flagship programme, the ISMQ prepares executives to manage by quality and to adopt new behaviours that adhere to the principles of sustainable development and global responsibility. This programme offers a core curriculum with customised paths around specialised themes. It supports business development which places the worker in the centre of the system, and which puts in place a constructive process that is structured in such a way that it furthers creativity and innovation. Businesses must be visionaries and resolve the paradox of managing change, while producing value at the same time.”
Marc Faget has worked at KEDGE for almost three years. For two years, he has acted as Interim Director of MSRM (Specialised Master in Risk Management) and taught at KEDGE as a professor in management in various programmes at the same time. Thus, Marc Faget is perfectly versed in the functions of a Programme Director and in providing student support.
In parallel with his activities at KEDGE, Mr. Faget is also the Head of the Research and Innovation Hub of the Regional Support Structure for Quality and Safety in New Aquitaine, where he works on the design and management of projects in quality management and risk management. He also holds a PhD in sciences (Zurich Polytechnique), an MS IMR graduate, and holds a Masters of Research and Modelling of Ecosystems (University of Bordeaux). Lastly, his fields of expertise and research activities are in: “quality and risk management in health and business”, “production systems and flow analysis”, “agroecology and sustainable development”, and “innovation, robotics, and new technologies”.
Marc Faget answers questions posed by KEDGE Alumni:
What ambitions do you have for the programme?
The ISMQ has become one of the best master’s programme in quality management. I am keen to continue this process through a full and forward-looking education combined with professional expertise capable of meeting the demands of our modern society, while keeping man at the heart of the system.
Bear in mind that the MS ISMQ has around 60 to 70 graduates each year. This degree is a work-study programme (three weeks at a company, one week at school) that allows students who are under a professional contract or internship to link pragmatic experience in the field with the cutting-edge conceptual inputs delivered in the programme. It is recognised by the RNCP (national register of professional certifications) at Level I.
What are the main areas you’d like to develop?
Given the current state of globalisation, the limitation of resources, and the multiplication of information and technological advances, today’s challenges - and those of tomorrow, are to provide quality and innovative management, and one that is fully conscious of its global nature.
I would therefore like to extend the awareness of sustainable development and social responsibility in the quality approach to all companies, and to integrate new technological tools for responsible quality management.
How is KEDGE's alumni network important for the ISMQ and, more broadly, for the school?
Ranked 45th amongst Europe’s business schools, KEDGE can proudly offer its graduates a rich and active international network. Thus, each alumnus contributes towards an excellence and a dynamic based on common values, allowing each and every one to be open to the opportunities and challenges of our ever-changing world.
