KEDGE is strengthening its CSR strategy with the KEDGE IMPAKT project
KEDGE has been recognised internationally as one of the pioneering schools in sustainable development and CSR since 2005.
In the KEDGE 25 strategic plan, the school made a promise to be an original school - sustainable and inclusive. Continuing its dynamic response to both the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN and inclusiveness, which are at the core of its strategy, KEDGE has grouped all its initiatives and their implementation under a single, meaningful banner: KEDGE IMPAKT.
KEDGE IMPAKT is one of the 26 projects of the new strategic plan presented in March 2021. Its objective is to increase the school's impact on society by ensuring that its strategy and actions in these areas are effective and valued.
In order to strengthen its positioning and ambitions in terms of CSR on both social and environmental issues, KEDGE IMPAKT relies on the expertise of its faculty, the commitment of its teams, and the proactiveness of its students and graduates as demonstrated through their actions.
The project has seven areas in which it responds to the five aspects of the CSR strategy:
- Strategy and governance: integrate sustainable development in all of the school’s staff and academic positions to adapt and implement the issues of sustainable development,
- Teaching and training: train actors of change, thereby giving the keys to students to build a sustainable world,
- Research: create the worlds of tomorrow by disseminating the impact of its research in and for society,
- Environmental management: take actions for the client and biodiversity, with the goal of making its campuses carbon neutral by 2030,
- Social policy/inclusiveness: commit to an inclusive school by increasing initiatives related to disability (goal: 5% of employees with disabilities), gender equality (goal: 90 on the gender equality index), and social openness.
The guiding principle of these areas is the interdependence of the three pillars of economy, environment, and society.
The effectiveness of KEDGE IMPAKT will be measured by a sustainable development committee to ensure that CSR is integrated into the strategic plan. KEDGE has chosen the Positive Impact Rating (a benchmark assessment by students on the impact and positive influence of schools on society) as a synthetic performance indicator. The school has set itself the goal of moving from a level 3 to a level 4 "transforming" school by 2025, which would put it amongst the ten institutions ranked worldwide as the most impactful in terms of sustainability.
"At KEDGE, we strongly believe that a desirable future cannot be built through a single commitment. Our world is a living, complex, and rich ecosystem. The challenges to be met, whether social, economic, or environmental, are linked and interdependent. This is why we are collectively committed - our students, professors, employees, and graduates - to putting actions that have a positive effect on society at the heart of our projects. This is KEDGE IMPAKT's mission," said Anil Benard-Dendé, Deputy General Director of KEDGE.
The KEDGE IMPAKT network is made up of some hundred committed experts (professors, employees, and students of the school). They are the architects of KEDGE's CSR strategy and play the role of ambassadors by implementing actions in the various departments, sharing information, training, and monitoring the indicators used to measure actions.
In order to report on its achievements and their impact, KEDGE has recently published the 10th edition of its sustainable development report, which can be found on kedge.edu.
