Heading towards the Port of Strasbourg. #PortsdeStrasbourgPAS! Big thanks for all your messages, support, kindness and encouragement since the appointment decree was issued. I have had many wonderful years in Marseille, sunny, salty and sometimes very spicy - I would like to extend my warmest thanks to all those with whom I've worked and who've supported the many projects of the Port of #Marseille Fos - so many adventures, of which there are still good memories, lessons learned and, most of all, a wonderful human adventure. #gpmm #portdemarseille #pilotage #HervéMartel #umf #AMU #Wista #IMTM# A new chapter is now beginning, I'm very happy and honoured to be joining the Port of Strasbourg, to put my energy and enthusiasm at the service of its growth, together with all the Port's staff and the players in this beautiful region. "It’s an honour to join the Port Autonome de Strasbourg Group. I've been involved in serving the public since I began my professional career and I'm passionate about the ports, waterways, and maritime sector. Together with Anne-Marie Jean, the President of the PAS, and the Board of Directors, I'll have the task of bringing together all of the energies of the region, the players of the port community, and, of course, all PAS employees, to build its future. We will push forward the necessary dynamics to increase port activity as to the ecological and energy transitions that we are experiencing today. I would like to thank the President and the members of the Board of Directors for their trust in me", said Claire Merlin.

About the Ports de Strasbourg
The second largest river port in France after Paris - a veritable multimodal transport platform - the Port de Strasbourg (PAS) handles 8 million tonnes of river traffic each year and more than 400,000 container shipments. It’s a major asset for the flow of bulk goods at local and national levels and contributes to the economic development of the Strasbourg metropolis and the Rhine area. PAS has two subsidiaries that contribute to the economic dynamism of the region:
- Rhine Europe Terminals, which manages the container terminals;
- Batorama, which operates tourist boat tours in Strasbourg and is the region's leading paying tourist attraction.
The PAS represents 500 companies and more than 10,000 jobs throughout the Bas-Rhin (from Marckolsheim to Lauterbourg) and thereby acts as the “coastline” of the Eastern part of France. In particular, the Strasbourg metropolitan area is driven by an industrial ecology approach that promotes collaboration between companies in the port area, with the aim of increasing both competitiveness and environmental responsibility. The PAS has no shortage of projects to appeal to the international market, in particular with the building of its container terminal in Lauterbourg, operated by Lauterbourg Rhine Terminal company, and its voluntary multimodal policy.
The inauguration of the new PAS headquarters in the heart of the port in 2021, marked the 95th anniversary of the institution. It’s new building signals its role as facilitator and driving force at the heart of the port community.
