Class of 1984: 40 years on, a reunion full of memories...
Kedge Alumni can take oenology classes in Paris
Each year, KEDGE Alumni organise more than 250 events, including a lot of themed events for Alumni. The Oenology Club offers Kedgers very affordable classes.
The PARIS OENOLOGY Club, has been managed by Olivier MORA (ESC 1999) since 2004, and by Muriel Petit, a professional oenologist (since 2000). The principal is simple: alumni get together around the table, Thursdays once a month, for three hours (7:30 pm - 10:30 pm) to discover a theme, a grape variety, a wine region, or a country. All the bottles are chosen by Muriel, Olivier, and various cellar masters. You will also discover foods that go particularly well with the theme in question. There are no prerequisites. The presence of the professional oenologist will reassure you about the quality of the class and the wines tested.
What do we do in the club?
Here is what Olivier, the club manager has to say!
The oenology class takes place in two parts: from 7:30 pm to 8:15 pm, a complete class on a chosen theme, with course materials, then from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm will continue with a tasting of the chosen bottles. Specific foods will also be served during the session. The wine, we don't just drink it. We look at it, we smell it, we taste it, and we talk about it! Identification of grape varieties, recognition of flavours, understanding of sensations, learning the vocabulary... Unlike some of us, wine gets better with age. We will therefore taste wines of different ages to learn the age markers. Why is the wine from here and not somewhere else? Why do two winemakers in the same region not produce the same wine? We will try to answer all your questions with a smile. :) Now it is up to you join us to turn the evening into a party! You can register for the entire semester, or one session at a time.
Interested? Semester registration in open!
In order to simplify the logistics of the club, but also to guarantee that you increase your knowledge through a diversity of interesting classes, we have set up semester registrations.
