INTERVIEW 💬
1️⃣To begin, tell us about your educational background. What did you study, both before and at KEDGE?
After getting a science bac in the European/English section, I did business classes for the Grandes Écoles in Orléans, my home town. After that, I enrolled in the Grande École Programme at KEDGE where I’m in Master 1 in finance in English. During my L3, I had the opportunity to do a Pro-Act at the Business Nursery at the Bordeaux campus, which let me take my first steps in the entrepreneurial sphere, and where I met sponsors for my project.
2️⃣Tell us what you did after your studies were finished. What positions have you held? What did you learn in those positions?
I’d wanted to work in the tourism sector for a long time, more specifically in hospitality. I did an internship in this field last summer. It was not conclusive but it reinforced my desire to become an entrepreneur and head a project that was my own.
3️⃣ What are you doing/what is your situation today? What gave you the idea and desire to do what are you doing today?
The concept has evolved a lot over the months. The original idea, boosted by the uncertain social climate and repetitive environmental problems, was a rucksack for survivalists. After doing a market study, I wanted to adapt the idea to one that was mainly for travellers. I fact, I had already had the travel bug and had always dreamed of travelling around the world with a rucksack on my back. It was obvious that I would need to do a project based around this my passion. Enmode-survie is a brand of a survival pouch made in part with recycled parachute cloth and assembled by the adaptive company Altea de Vierzon (18).
The brand is in the launching phase and the pouch is promoted by a Ulule pre-order campaign. The survival pouch, nicknamed “co-traveller”, is made for all adventurers, no matter what type they are! I’m very interested in alternative consumption patterns and environmental protection, so I wanted this project to reflect my aspirations. I want it to contain French products, as well as quality products, such as the Opinel knife or the Hubert cereal bar.
4️⃣What are your business goals for the future?
The campaign’s main objective is to get pre-orders on Ulule and test it on consumers. I then want to sell it online.
5️⃣ How did your education at KEDGE Business School help you become who you are today, and which of its courses helped you develop your project?
My first year at KEDGE consisted of basic courses, where I acquired a multidisciplinary background (marketing, finance, project management, etc.). I’ve used this knowledge throughout this entrepreneurial venture. The lessons are sometimes too theoretical but I’m able to put them into practice with Enmode-survie.
6️⃣ Anything you’d like to add? A message to pass on?
Don't hesitate to take a look at our pre-order campaign on Ulule to get your co-traveller and go on adventures with a free mind. I need your help to make this entrepreneurial project a reality and for anyone to be able take their co-travellers with them in the future.
