Since 1996, ACCEDE has been dedicated to providing advice on business creation to increase employment in the PACA region. ACCEDE is the entrepreneurial association of KEDGE Marseille.
Violette Rougon, President, ACCEDE Provence Entrepreneurs:
ACCEDE Provence Entrepreneurs is the entrepreneurial association of KEDGE Marseille. Our activities promote entrepreneurship in the southern region and, more broadly, in North Africa. We do this through our:
- Consulting division. We support around thirty start-ups and entrepreneurs each year by offering them tailor-made consultancy services at very attractive rates. We mainly offer market studies, business plans, and setting benchmarks.
- Events division. We organise four editions of the Phare de l'Entrepreneuriat in France and abroad - Marseille, Tunisia, Morocco, and Senegal. The first Euro-Mediterranean business creation competition has more than 100,000€ in funding. It brings together the entrepreneurial ecosystem through trade forums, conferences, pitching competitions, and hackathons.
📍 Le Phare de l'Entrepreneuriat - 11 March2021
Le Phare for Entrepreneurship is the first Euro-Mediterranean business creation competition which rewards five finalists (out of 200 candidates) with combined grants of over 100,000€. But the Phare more than a competition. First and foremost, it’s a series of activities centred around the theme of entrepreneurship and innovation, including conferences, round tables, animated stands, and a hackathon that takes place over a day-and-a-half.
The objective is to promote entrepreneurship and job creation in the PACA (Provence, Alpes, Cote d'Azure) region.
In figures, the Phare represents:
- More than 150 projects rewarded since 1998;
- More than 100,000€ in grants to be awarded;
- More than 2,000 visitors in 2020.
Through a competition, Entrepreneurs who have created a startup and want to develop their activities compete for five different prizes:
- The Technology Award, aimed at rewarding start-ups that comprise recent scientific discoveries and applications;
- The Tremplin-Audace Aix-Marseille Award, reserved for entrepreneurs whose start-up has been in existence for a maximum of a year-and-a-half, and who come from the Aix-Marseille metropolitan area;
- The CSR Award, aimed at rewarding a start-up for its socially responsible commitments;
- The Women's Entrepreneurship Award, rewarding a female entrepreneur who has created a start-up;
- The Coup de Pouce Award (The Helping Hand Award), aimed at supporting entrepreneurs from priority districts of Marseille.
The Phare usually takes place in an exhibition centre of more than 1,200 m², which provides 60 companies, start-ups, and organisations the space to present their activities to the Phare’s 2,200 visitors. There will be a large interactive coworking area and a press room. Conferences will be held throughout the day, with dozens of speakers speaking on various business topics. Last year, for example, the Phare welcomed Jacques-Henri Eyraud, President of Olympique de Marseille, Alice Zagury, co-founder of The Family, and Arnaud Herrmann, Director of Sustainable Development at Accor.
Finally, a Hackathon will take place. This was the great novelty of the Phare 2020. 50 people (ten groups of five participants) have to respond to an entrepreneurial problem in less than 24 hours. Workshops will be conducted by our main partners to break up the teams' brainstorming times. Teams will also receive support for their project from our speakers, expert partners, and ACCEDE team members.

🌍 Le Phare de l'Entrepreneuriat Africain - End April 2021
Through its ACCEDE International branch, the association assists young African entrepreneurs in realising their projects by providing support (such as business planning, market studies, financing strategy, pitch preparation, etc.).
Originally a competition for French entrepreneurs (the Phare de l'Entrepreneuriat) was exported to Morocco five years ago and to Tunisia four years ago. Soon one will be set up in Dakar, Senegal.
The African Entrepreneurship Phare was created in 2015, on the same model as its counterpart in France. It’s an event consisting of a competition, conferences, and round tables around entrepreneurship. Contestants receive support over four months during which they are put in contact with local junior companies, given advice, and receive supervision to help them establish a solid foundation for their start-up.
In figures, the Moroccan and Tunisian Phares in 2020 were:
- + 700 visitors;
- 17 well-known speakers;
- 14 entrepreneurs;
- 6 prizes awarded.
Due to the uncertain situation concerning Covid-19, this year ACCEDE International is organising a unique event that brings together, not only all the countries where it’s already established (Morocco, Tunisia, and Senegal), but also the rest of the African diaspora to promote African entrepreneurship in general. This year, it will take place in Marseille with speakers on-site.
The African Entrepreneurship Phare will recognise entrepreneurs by giving awards in three categories: CSR, Tech/Innovation, & AfricaLink.
The AfricaLink award is open to all entrepreneurs from Africa or the African diaspora whose project is to create links between Africa & France. The winning prize has a value between 2,000€ and 3,000€ and includes coaching, support, and membership to AfricaLink. Winners will also participate in one of AfricaLink’s missions in the winner's target country.
