Created by a KEDGE graduate, Sport Heroes raises 4M€ !
The start-up created in 2014 by Boris Pourreau (graduated from KEDGE in 2010) has just raised 4 million euros to make the younger generation want to move.
We first wrote about Boris Pourreau in 2015 when his company was still very new. At the time, Boris, who graduated from ESC in 2010, had just launched "Running Heroes", which took advantage of the popularity of running by piggy-backing on the development of connected objects.
The concept was simple: running enthusiasts earn discount vouchers by attaining their sports objective - an intelligent innovation that encourages personal effort. By 2015, Running Heros had already attracted the attention of many advertisers (Nike, Puma, Bio C Bon, Spotify, amongst others). Since then, the small start-up has become big. Very big! "Running Heroes" has morphed into "Sport Heroes Group”, and now includes other sports, such as cycling and skiing.
Today, Boris and his associates announced that they have just raised an additional 4M € from Genairgy, an investment company led by Julien Leclercq (Decathlon family) This is a new stage in the life of his company, which already has more than 50 employees. He wants to become a major player in the sports domain, and intends to provide support to more than 20 million people in their athletic activities by 2024.
