This Kedger has become a photo model for UNESCO in 114 countries.
2018 KEDGE BS graduate Aïssata Touré has been chosen to be a photo model in UNESCO's fight against racial discrimination publicity campaign
Aïssata Touré received her degree from KEDGE BS’s Grande Ecole Programme in 2018, and is currently continuing her studies in law at the Law Faculty of Bordeaux.
Just recently, she was selected as a photo model for the publicity campaign in the fight against racial discrimination in Bordeaux and the entire world. Her photo will appear in the 114 countries where UNESCO operates.
“It’s an honour to have been able to participate as a model in UNESCO’s campaign in the fight against racism. […] I am moved that it has an international dimension, appearing in all the countries where the organisation operates. As a French métisse, I will always defend the improvement of Vivre Ensemble (Living Together) movement,” said the young woman.
She had the opportunity to meet the city’s important people and government at Bordeaux’s City Hall including Marik Fetouch, the city’s new Deputy Mayor, at the launching of the campaign on Thursday, 21 March 2019, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Photos of this event appeared in the magazine Sud-Ouest.
The campaign features some dozen male and female models from Bordeaux who appear in posters displayed in public places, which carry messages that promote equality in diversity and “living together”, which challenges the categorising of people on their origin or appearance with the question “Me, different?”
